Andre Romell Young, known professionally as Dr. Dre, is an American rapper and record producer. Born on February 18, 1965, he is the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics. Previously, he co-founded, co-owned, and served as the president of Death Row Records. Dr. Dre began his career in 1985 as a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru. Later, he found fame with the gangsta rap group N.W.A. His solo debut album, The Chronic (1992), released under Death Row Records, made him one of the best-selling American music artists of 1993.
